Discovering Bullet Train - Japan
Known in the west as the bullet train, the "shinkansen" was Japan's pioneering answer to rapid intercity transportation. The world's first high speed train started service in 1964 and reached a speed of 131mph.Over the years the bullet train has been redesigned many times and today the latest incarnation known as the "Nozomi" connects Tokyo with Kyoto and Osaka in just 2hours 30minutes.
